The Grand Hotel in Salem Helps “Clean The World” by Donating Soap and Shampoo
Friday, June 25th, 2010Every day in America, thousands of hotels discard millions of pounds of soap and shampoo that impoverished people around the world could use to prevent unhygienic diseases.
In an effort to spread awareness and be globally responsible, we are participating in “Clean The World”, a non-profit organization that distributes recycled soap products and educational materials to domestic homeless shelters and impoverished countries worldwide. The Grand Hotel in Salem in the only hotel in Oregon participating in this life-saving program.
The housekeeping staff at the Grand Hotel in Salem has been trained how to collect and save the soaps and shampoos their guests use and don’t take with them. The staff deposits the soap in bins provided by Clean the World and then they seal and ship it to a soap recycling plant where it is either re-batched or sterilized. For more information on the process, visit www.cleantheworld.com.
The Grand Hotel in Salem is supporting Clean the World in reaching their goal of saving one million lives each year. Next time you stay at a hotel, consider the Grand Hotel in Salem or one of Clean the World’s participating partners.
